Seance told Annie...

People keep posting that they think Jennifer Glick was Annie's mom. This is not true, because during the seance Annie asks, "Was he (Judas) my mother's brother?" The answer is Yes.

So...if you try and assume that Jennifer Glick was still somehow Annie's mother, than you have to assume that Judas was also Jennifer's brother. The more you think about that, it doesn't make sense.

seems to make perfect sense. she loved her brother, and facilitated his secret life. they used to attend church together...then, after he went bad, into the secret room to avoid capture. there is also evidence the Jennifer was also a creep since she forced the girls into the closet

Judy Barlow was their mother not Jennifer Glick. I had a feeling Jennifer was their mother's close friend from church - hence why she was Judas's last known victim - maybe Judy had finally said enough, when he killed her. Especially since Judy gives Annie Jennifer's cross.

I took it that their mom might've forced them into the closet during times when her brother came up from the secret room.

I think what throws people off is that Jennifer is (or at least looks) pregnant in the picture, yet the baby is never mentioned.
I feel like this movie had so much potential with plot, and just falls short.

Yeah... I was left with the feeling this movie went through twenty rewrites or so and the editing department threw darts to determine what should stick and what not, hence the endless parade of one take characters and seemingly unnecessary focus on others such as Jennifer and Cute Officer Guy (what was even the point of all those building relationship scenes???).

I definitely can see why people are puzzled about Jennifer's role in the whole thing because, frankly, I still don't get what exactly set her apart from the other victims. There were photos of her murder's scene but the identity of the killer remained unknown, so she couldn't have been killed at Annie and Nicole's house, right?. But then, why was her ghost trapped there? And why was she so adamant about protecting/getting Annie to find out the truth, when all their own mother's ghost did was protect her "secret", messing with the lights and sh!t (I am still pondering whether that secret was Judas's whereabouts or something a little creepier regarding the true identity of girl's "missing" father, myself)?

It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that they intended for Annie to be Jennifer's daughter at one point or another (have Judas kidnapped her while still pregnant and killed her after birth, with Judy taking in her friend's daughter - that would explain her ghost being attached to the house and her influence on Annie), and then drop that plotline midway to production. The seance's scene very clearly states she's not any of the girl's mother in the final cut, however.
