Why were Mark's lips silver?

We noticed in several scenes that his lips had a silvery sheen. Lip gloss? Meth addict? Paint inhaler? Robot fellatio?

It looked like he was dehydrated. Perhaps they wanted him to look sickly. He cares about gambling more than his health. Not to mention that low bodyfat.

He must care about his health somewhat in order to get up every morning and run five miles.

At lest I assume he did that. That's the only way he'd be able to run as far and as fast as he did in the final scene.

I wondered that as well. Isn't it right after they put him in water, so maybe it was from near-drowning or something?

Real life ain't as dope as the movies.
