Would have liked it better if he lost.
Would have made a real statement there.
shareI thought it was gonna end with the ball in the wheel, and us never knowing the outcome.
I'd have preferred that.
Another good option might have been for him to win, but then let it ride, and lose the second time.
I agree that the actual ending felt a little bit forced.
BUT I guess the likelihood is that he "gave up" for a few weeks, or a few days, or a few hours, then got right back in the game. So the close of the movie was a snapshot of a few minutes of his life, and not the true "ending" of his addiction.
That's exactly how I thought it was going to end as well. But those type of ambiguous endings are all too common nowadays and it would have ironically made the ending too predictable. I'm not too sure what the empty lot at the end was about. I'm not sure if it was symbolic or I missed something because I was cooking while watching this movie, lol.
shareA "little" forced?
Like a Greyhound bus backing into a bike rack.
The basic problem here is that despite the strong original story and a few highlights, it's just another stupid fvcking Mark Walberg Hollywood steamer.
