Wow

This contains spoilers....

I like most movies and am usually not critical. However, NOBODY would EVER do what they did from 10pm until midnight on Christmas Eve; especially a mother who is working 3 jobs and living in an attic and struggling to make ends meet. I mean, she couldn't even make rent!
All those decorations, including one on the ROOF, were put up without anyone noticing or hearing? And I wouldn't let that moronic roommate drive me anywhere. Skating rinks open at 11:30 on Christmas Eve? Lottery offices open until midnight, on Christmas Eve? Seriously? Come on, at least ATTEMPT to make it believable.

LOL. Yeah, I'm usually a fan of these Hallmark Christmas movies but this one...I don't know.

It was really slow, felt way longer than it was. And really unbelievable in a lot of places. And I can have a pretty hardy suspension of disbelief.

Five-O is not a democracy it is a benevolent dictatorship!

I completely agree! Mike would still be there after they turned in the ticket...so ridiculous! I usually enjoy Hallmark Christmas movies, but this really wasn't one of them.

Agreed - this one misses the mark and I hate to say it but the guy is less than appealing. Hate to be so superficial but...

"I hate to say it but the guy is less than appealing. Hate to be so superficial but..."

My thoughts exactly. He definitely didn't look like the leading man type. I'm not saying that he should look like an "Adonis"'. But really this guy? Sure he looked like a crook but, superficial or not, the leading guy should have some looks. Whoever did the casting fell way short.

reply

Wow. You're shallow.

reply

Yeah because you're so perfect right?

reply

Boring, slow movie. The leading guy was nice but not appealing...but what did it for me was the fact that the boy dropped the card and didn't see it when he picked up the other pieces of mail on the ground inches away from the card. And, that they didn't check the closet when rummaging around the house frantically looking for the letter. A lot of unbelievable moments in this movie.

What really bugged me was the fact that they left it till the clock showed midnight and they were still OUTSIDE the building! Also, what idiot would send a valuable lottery ticket by snail mail without any signed for delivery? If it was me, I'd have taken it there in person. But I watched till the end because Elizabeth Berkley was pretty hot.

Holly debating with Mike on those steps until the very last minute was suspenseful. I was shouting at her "never mind about love, go get the money."

reply

It would have been more believable if the clock had shown 2 minutes to midnight. Instead it was showing exactly midnight, so there's no way they could have gone in, walked up to the counter, and find it still open. Besides, there could well have been other lottery winners in a queue.
