shareI just finished watching Lucky Christmas. I think she wanted him to be there when she cashed the ticket, maybe to let him know that she believed his sincerity (since finding the ticket). They could have also gone into the office and cash the ticket and then smooched.
It was a little cheesy, but I liked JG-S and EB in their respective roles, I even liked the kid. He wasn't too annoying. I do think that Joe has criminal tendencies and should be in jail. He threw the pillow into the fire which burned down the house. He stole the car. He stole the lottery ticket. He wanted to embezzle money from "Holly". But he's good comic relief, so he's likable.
A few things that I noticed: Mike's cough. It showed up suddenly, and went away just as suddenly. I was tempted to think that Mike was coughing because he inhaled love pillow fumes, but Joe wasn't coughing.
Mike feeling sick at the tavern. Again, happened suddenly, and went away suddenly. And if he were sick, or his cough was due to illness, then being outside in the cold overnight should have made it worse. I half jokingly thought that the waitress at the tavern who liked Mike roofied his drink.
I also thought it was really convenient that the only kid who was interested in Mike's hockey trick was Max, and that Max approached Mike to learn the trick.
I was also surprised to learn that the Pinewood Derby is a real thing.
I think that Holly could have tested Mike's sincerity later by getting the money first. And then pretending that she hadn't. Instead of gambling by delay.
shareI don't think that by that time she doubted his sincerity, or else she would not have insisted that he be there when she claimed the money. It's not like it was "their money". It was hers. If I were in a similar situation, I think I probably would have claimed the money first, and then gone after the guy and not told him.
