No one heard her screaming? (SPOILER)

I don't remember details but I remember hearing about a rape that happened in a New York apartment stairwell which no one helped her either. It was a few years ago.

Is that really unbelieveable?
It's not unheard of.

Most of this movie is "a bit of a stretch." While few people will come to your rescue, it is improbable that no one would call 911. The movie implies no one ever called because the police never came.
