How many movies there need to be about Lincoln huh ?

Gentlemen, you had my curiosity. But now you have my attention.

I kind of feel bad for them because their idea was probably thought of before Lincoln and now everyone will compare.

Lincoln was thought up 12 years ago. I seriously doubt Saving Lincoln had been in the works that long.

If you wanna be all technical about it Lincoln was "thought up" over 200 years ago.

That said, they've been making movies about Lincoln constantly for as long as movies have existed.

The Civil War was ongoing 150 years ago. Not 200.

I said LINCOLN was thought up over 200 years ago. Not the Civil War.

You know, the MAN Abraham Lincoln born 1809?

Mr-Big1 referred to the Civil War-era movie, vs the movie Saving Lincoln. He didn't refer to Lincoln the man.

We absolutely started before the other movie. We wrote the first version of the the script before Mr. Spielberg first announced that he had optioned Team of Rivals. That announcement stopped our project for years, and eventually we found an independent way to make our own movie.

This movie, SAVING LINCOLN, was fantastic. I didn't know he had a loyal bodyguard and best friend from his Illinois Lawyer days.

Spielberg's movie did not cover all of Lincoln's life (anyway).
He focused on the plot of the 13th Amendment mostly.

It's good there are other movies for other perspectives on American legends.
