So far reviews have been positive on the performances especially for the leads, but overall the film has gotten a mixed to positive reaction.

Within those constraints, Knightley and Sam Rockwell, who plays Annika's father and Megan's eventual crush, bring a chemistry and personal charisma that makes their scenes together better than the movie really deserves. Still, it's hard not to watch Laggies without thinking back to Your Sister's Sister, in which Shelton made rom-com tropes feel spontaneous and fresh.
