Wanted so much to love it, but couldn't

I love Lynn Shelton and the premise of this film. Overall it's a cute and relatable story. Something is a bit lacking for me though. Here's my review: http://freshfromthetheatre.com/review-laggies/

As much as I enjoyed the movie, I agree that the script did not follow through with its message. The whole premise of a character dealing with life's uncertainties and the crisis that results is actually quite endearing and very relatable. What bothered me was how quickly the film degenerated into somewhat of a predictable, shopworn love story. Wish there was more insight on Megan's internal conflict, and less on the forced romance that was supposed to be the resolution. I do feel everyone was properly cast, but the character development was somewhat absent for the supporting cast. Keira did an awesome job in her portrayal of Megan, and the movie is worth watching because of that alone.

I really liked this movie. I didn't mind Megan and Craig getting together in the end. But the one thing that bothered me was she is still pretty aimless and indecisive. Say a year or so into their relationship Craig's driven, lawyer character is gonna be like, "....soooo when are you getting a job? You should go to the career counselor." Which is exactly what her first boyfriend was doing.

Witch you have to wonder why did she really dump a guy of ten years and get into another relationship so fast. Who does that. I thought dropping someone after that long [without compassion]for someone you barely know says a lot about her.
