Did anybody else get the vibe that Tom Sizemore was pretty much imitating Pacino's character from Heat

I watched this recently, primarily as a way to kill some boredom - I knew upon going into this movie that it was far from being Saving Private Ryan or The Longest Day lol. However, something that struck me was Sizemore's performance - typically, Sizemore has done a great job at playing seasoned and tough NCOs in military films. However, while watching him here, it really felt like his acting in this movie was merely him trying to act how Pacino portrayed Vincent Hanna from Heat. (Coincidentally, another film that Sizemore acted in)
