Whats the latest with this?
Is it still being made? I feel like I have been reading about this for years and last I checked (probably six months ago) I read it may begin shooting last May or June. Looks like that didn't happen.

Great question. I come here every so often to check up on things. I understood it was to begin filming this fall and that didn't happen to my knowledge. I'm putting my money on a late 2013 release or even delayed until 2014.
Long Live The Motion Picture.
That's likely, but it's just due to the slowness of the process sometimes. It's not unusual for a production to take even 5-10 years from script to completion, and this one is actually quicker (the script has been relatively finished for more than 10 years, but production really only got kicked off over the past year and a half). Now that Hollywood is past the holiday season, good news should be forthcoming soon.

I've heard Kevin Cosner is rumoured to be interested in making this happen. Anyone else heard this same rumour?

Oh god, please no! The Civil War wasn't slow enough or long enough for Costner to make it.

shareMr. Costner had expressed interest in the project last year, but that's as far as it went and he is not involved. The Kickstarter campaign to raise the final funding for this project will begin on April 9, and filming is set to begin in late July. The 2 hour pilot will be released in early 2015.

Thanks! If it's a kickstarter now, I'm pretty sure it won't have this star-studded, genre-spanning case.
shareAll the current cast are committed to the project and Kickstarter - KS in fact has been used on quite a number of the big projects that have been made the past few years. Every single cast member is on board and - keep on eye on upcoming news - you'll be seeing more as the characters are futher cast.

Wow. Amazing! I will gladly eat my hat for being wrong about this thing seeing the light of day.
shareHaha, you may want to be sure to salt it :)
One of the things to keep in mind is that this has been a long road for all of us involved (most especially for series creator/writer/producer Michael Frost Beckner) and quite publicly because Mr. Beckner has shared the behind-the-scenes activities for several years. Typically you only hear about a production once it's started or already completed. You rarely see the ups and downs like everyone has with this one. And the average for many productions from script to screen is 7-10 years (most are unaware of that). If you look at some of the biggest movie and TV productions over the past few decades, you'd be surprised how many cast changes there were from the time the project was conceived until the cameras started rolling... but the public rarely hears about it.
In the case of "To Appomattox" it began as a two-man stage play written by Mr. Beckner, with Jason O'Mara in the role of Grant and Will Patton as Lee. After a couple different actors slated as Grant, now O'Mara is back in the main role. Just about all of the others actors and actresses in the cast list have been with the production from the beginning and have been very patient as their commitment has never wavered. Now, half of the financing has already been committed and Kickstarter will easily raise the other half, and we are set to roll in late July. All of the cast members' schedules are in sync with the production and they are available.
After several years and many stops and starts, we are finally there!

Thanks for the update Mr. Petruzzi.
Oh, by the way, which one's Pink?
