how could abigail and/or georgie not get oscar nods?

this was such a poignantly well-acted tragedy by all involved, but the two sisters were masterfully played by abigail breslin and georgie henley..

btw.. how can this awesome flick rate only 5.5? honestly, really? 5.5?

it wasn't the fall from her 16th-floor penthouse that killed her, it was the landing

I'm not surprised. Firstly because indie movies rarely get any attention from the Academy – the ones who have are usually distributed by small labels supported by bigger companies (i.e. Universal, WB etc), secondly because I don't think Georgie used her full potential. I can't speak of Abigail, but I've been following Georgie's acting since the first Narnia movie, and I've seen everything she has appeared in (minus some Cambridge plays), and I really don't think it was masterfully on her part – it was good, but not masterfully.

Oscars is way to much credit here. Although oscars often go to the wrong person or crap film (Birdman for example). These girls did do a great job for a little Indie film in Canada that I personally never heard of until I saw on Netflix.
I do agree though at some point Abagail Breslin will win an Oscar. She just did Maggie which surprised the hell out of me but mainly for Arnold's performance. Time for her to get out there and get a big role because that's usually what comes after all these Indie films. She is a very beautiful young girl and is super talented. (Can't beleive I'm saying young anymore lol) but she is very good in everything she is in. OSCAR for this though ? Not wide enough a release and you can tell by how many people even rated it. Below 500 but I think it should have been a 6.4 or so.

THERES NO ROOM IN MY CIRCUS TENT FOR YOU !!!!

LOL are you serious? Abigail's acting was so-so. Definitely not masterful. Georgie was very good though.
