Unmasking

When she unmasks the guy in the shower after she kills him, are we supposed to know who he is?

He is known by The Walking Dead community.

reply

I thought the same thing.

reply

Probably not. Interpreted as a way of humanizing the attacker, Kristy/Justine sees who was behind the mask and she understands the significance of having killed a person, rather than a faceless, nameless lump of meat.

reply

I think that, that might it.

reply

For a second, I thought it was supposed to be the Groundskeeper who was "in on it" and that his killing was faked since we never truly see him die.

reply

Oh my God thank you! It has been driving me nuts wondering if we should know who the guy was that she unmasked at the end. The way she looked when she saw his face really made me think it was someone she knew. I too thought it was the grounds keeper Scott, but I wasn't sure. The credits inindicate that the the masked men and the grounds keeper are not the same person.

reply

No.

But if someone had been trying to kill you all night, even after they're dead, you'd still want to see their face

I was under the same impression at first but then Justine didn't say out a name to acknowledge the person. She rather looked horrified to have taken the life of a young man who could've had his whole life ahead of him.

Lol, what? A killer with no remorse having his whole life ahead of him? Yeah, no.

I felt zero remorse for his death.

I wondered at first but realized that no, he had not been in the movie before. Was the actor on TWD (above)? He looked kind of familiar but I don't remember if he was.
