One of the most boring movies ever!

I'm sorry but I watch a ton of movies, low rated to high rated and I have a very open mind and I like many movies regardless of what the majority thinks about them. With that being said, this has got to be about the most boring movie I've ever seen! It does seem they tried to really paint a picture of how the boy was manipulated into doing what he did, and I can't say they did a bad job of that but it was so incredibly boring to watch and too drawn out. When it finally started getting a bit exciting it was suddenly over.

They should have sped up the beginning quite a bit more and spent more time on the murders themselves, perhaps even spent some time on backstory of the victims leading up to their murders. After all, the victims are really the ones who matter most in those horrible and senseless crimes. It would have been nice to know a little backstory of who these people were before they had their lives snuffed out from under them so tragically. Instead it seems they tried to make us feel sorry for the boy, and yes while he may have been coaxed into doing this, it's no excuse, he's still a horrible person who easily could have went to the police or somebody to try and prevent this so we shouldn't feel sorry for him. This is only my opinion though, and curious to hear what your thoughts are. Thanks fore listening.

Your comments are depressing; it sounds like you wanted to see the "action" of people getting shot, and cared little about the events that lead up to the shootings. I'm guessing you are a gamer? Were you also disappointed that the shootings were not more graphic as well? This wasn't meant to be an action film, but a character study, a glimpse into a disturbed mind. I thought it was intense and disturbing, and I wasn't "bored" for a second. I don't see how anybody could be bored by this hypnotically fascinating movie..

From IMDB storyline

"An abandoned boy is lured to America and drawn into the shadow of a dangerous father figure. Inspired by the real life events that led to the 2002 Beltway sniper attacks."
The movie is not supposed to be exciting, it is about a sick and twisted individual. "The government took my kids away from me saying that I kidnapped them. How can a man kidnap his own kids?" John said something to the effect "We kill 5 or 6 people a day for 30 days, if they think it is women, we kill a child, if they think it is children, we kill a cop, maybe we blow up a bus load of cops"

perhaps even spent some time on backstory of the victims leading up to their murders.
The victims were random.

it seems they tried to make us feel sorry for the boy
This movie was about what the "father" was thinking leading up to the events of why he did what he did and how he brainwashed his "son" into going along with him. "Words mean nothing, if you love me, you will do this for me"
