Did anyone else have issues with the audio?

So I watched the movie last night. I wouldn't call it great but it was a little better than I thought it'd be.

The audio drove me INSANE though. It was the kind of movie where I had to have my remote in my hand at all times to constantly adjust the volume. I'd have to turn it up ridiculously high just to hear the dialogue because it got so quiet. Then the jump scares would happen and the screaming and orchestral crashes got loud enough to actually shake some items on the TV stand. Most of them were predictable enough for me to turn the volume down beforehand but some of them snuck up on me and I'd be left feeling partially deaf.

I'm a huge horror junkie so usually I'm used to that kind of thing but it just seemed particularly bad in this movie.

Yes! Kept having to rewind and still had no idea what they said. So annoying. How do you put out a movie with such poor sound??

I have to agree. I'm watching it right now and am having the same issues with the audio. I hate movies where the actors whisper. The audio engineers for this movie need to go back to school (and maybe try it sober this time) because the audio really sucked.

The whole thing is really low. I can hardly hear it at all, even with the jumpy moments.

I had to put it on subtitles, the mixing was definitely weird.

I noticed the volume problems, too. For a minute the movie would be quiet, then the next it would all of a sudden get loud. Another problem I noticed, and maybe it's just me, but in the beginning when Ashley is talking with her father, and later with her roommate while smoking marijuana before going to the party, their dialogue didn't seem to match their lips moving. As though there was a nano-second delay. O.o
