Just saw this and had zero expectations for it. But I must say that im impressed. The acting was right on and so was the action scenes. Reminded me more of house of flying daggers more than anything really.

I saw some clips from the beginning and it looked pretty bad, to me. Particularly the camera work that was ripped from the latest crappy PG-13 Hollywood action film. If it gets a lot better I'll give it a go.
shareIt def gets a lot better. I didnt like the first 10 or 15 min of the film, but it really picks up and makes you care about the anti hero. Plus you cant beat the last few chapters of the film IMO.
shareJust finished watching it, was the best movie I've seen in awhile. I liked how they showed the Manchurian solders, as full characters and not just cookie cutter bad guys, as in Western movies. One of the best chase type movies ever. The action scenes were incredible and I watched them over several times. The last scene in the field was amazing!!
I find myself gravitating to foreign films, in particular Asian, as they are much more interesting than their Western counterparts.

It was more of an action movie than I expected. High on the action, low on the story line. My only major complaint was the 108 camera shots per minute. I wish directors would reserve that kind of camera work for music videos, it gives me a headache.
shareI agree. After watching an earlier disappointing film, and contemplating bed on a Christmas Eve, I took a chance on this.
It was 1.30am when I started and I figured that if I got bored I would simply turn in for the night.
I'm writing this right after the film at 3.52am which hopefully indicates that it did far more than send me to sleep.
A cracking film with a simple story, likeable characters and top draw action scenes. The choreography and accompanying music in the chase scenes were electric and really ramped up the tension and excitement.
What a wonderful Christmas surprise this turned out to be. See it if you can.
