This movie shook me to the core!

I had no idea black people had to go through all of this.
Hands down most shocking film I've seen about slavery.

Solomon went through hell.Patsy on the other hand was the most heart wrenching character that I identified with.

When Epp's wife abused her the first time, I was literally in shock, but when she glassed her, I just died a thousand deaths.

I feel for black people and what they have to go through- to this day- because of the color of their skin. It's 2017, and we shouldn't even be having this conversation.

Hopefully, this film will change opinions.

Believe it or not, this movie still doesn't even begin to do real justice to the magnitude of the never-ending psychological violence and astronomical levels of day-to-day immoral collusion that MUST accompany legally declaring fellow humans, NONHUMAN and chattel for 10 entire generations. And also, how absolutely imperative it was for as high a percentage as possible of the overall white population to participate in maintaining the overall mechanics of such a morally precarious system. Because deep, deep down, the moral compasses that we are almost all wired with, had to have constantly nagged at almost every one of them that it was an astronomical lie of absolutely biblical proportions.

No man lies so boldly as the man who is indignant.
