Many of the negative comments I have seen about this movie are beyond ridiculous. I have seen very few logical points made for it being "laughable," "filth," or "garbage." I actually enjoyed this film quite a bit and it definitely accomplished the goal of being a quality thriller.
though well made and entertaining, i found it to be a bit leftist politically. American soldiers with a vendetta turned terrorist. a muslim hero. seems to be an obvious effort by hollywood to send a politically correct message. on top of that, i find liam neeson's off-screen anti-gun stance to be hypocrisy. he makes darn good money selling wholesale gun violence but has no problem collecting his paycheck for depicting such. his vocal anti-gun stance would be more meaningful if he'd turn down scripts that are so much against his moral beliefs, but then, that is the hollywood way.
Why do people have to see "politics" in everything?
Why can't it be that a film is made, as pure escapism. Maybe this film doesn't have a deep message, or putting a viewpoint, maybe it is strictly for entertainment?
Why can't people today just watch a film and enjoy it, without analysing whether it swings left or right. Not everything is politics.

people should leave their always political brain and just enjoy the movie.
