'F you Tranny!' Was this really necessary?

There was no reason to have this meaningless transphobic slur in this movie. The movie gained nothing from it, nor would it have lost anything without it. Hollywood, please take note. Transphobia is not acceptable.

He's a rough bail-bondsman. They don't tend to be polite. The joke is on HIM, not the target of the insult. It's grounded in the fact that 'Sandy' is a unisex name, so it DOES have justification, whether or not you think it's acceptable (in real life, i don't, in movies, I do.)

I would never use that slur, but it is a fact that there are mean people out there who do… Movies have a right to depict this, unless we just want to go ahead and ban EVERY insult, which is absurd… (I'm disabled, you can call me a cripple… I hope you don't, but it's your right of free speech).

What are you, a "heterophobe"?

Lighten up, man this is a comedy.
Plus, "tranny" isn't even a slur (it's simply a shortened version of the word transsexual), so this phrase is in to way derogatory.

Agree with the OP. That scene made me cringe.
