I'm curious to know what you all were expecting from this movie. I haven't laughed so hard at a comedy in a long time! It's silly, raunchy, and effing hilarious! I have NO idea why everyone here hates it - I seriously don't get it.

I was expecting a funny comedy and I laughed maybe twice. There's nothing for you to get, we all have different taste in comedy. Although, since most people didn't laugh at this movie, it's fair to call it "unfunny".
shareIdentity Thief is the only female-driven (as in the main or equal-main character is female) comedy I've found funny in the 21st Century.
I'm not saying Identity Thief is a classic, and I'm not saying its great, but its good.
Its about 3 notches below the Austin Powers Trilogy (my favorite comedy).
The only comedies I rate above Identity Thief in recent years is the Austin Powers Trilogy, 21 Jump Street, Click, and those are all male-driven.
Very rare for me to find a funny female actress, but Melissa McCarthy definitely fits the bill.

I took it as an absurd and silly comedy that was not meant to be serious.
Too many people on these forums are taking it seriously.
