I got the impression that Kalyn named Leslie as her unofficial “godmother.” I believe she said that she started calling Leslie her godmother and eventually it just stuck. Maybe she felt that if she was going to be living with Leslie, the two should have some type of connection (especially if someone asked them how they’re related). Maybe to Kalyn, godmother sounded better than pageant mentor/instructor.

Me too, Brynnas. I think like a previous poster said, it was a title that just 'stuck'. Since this show is about mothers and daughters (from 'Dallas Divas and Daughters'), they had to have some kind of 'daughter/mother' relationship, so I guess 'Godmother/Goddaughter' was given.

Kalyn addressed this. She said that she had a lousy relationship with her real mother and that she felt close to Leslie so she just started calling her godmother.
How old is Kalyn? I'm assuming she's around Maddie's age?
