movie of the same with the same actress and the same story...?

Help me out, folks. I've run across this show, drawn in by Jennifer Love Hewitt, obviously.

IMDB lists a 2010 movie of the same name and with what reads like a very similar story line, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt in the lead role. But her character does have a different name, so it's not a continuation. Is it a re-telling of some kind?

Can someone who knows both the movie and the show shed some light?

It's basically the same plot (except that the husband takes off) with different characters. Without spoiling anything, the movie has a proper ending, so it wouldn't have made sense to make this show a continuation.

The Client List movie was a very successful Lifetime movie. Since it became a success they wanted to make it into a TV show and make some adjustments. They went in a sexier direction, from the more realistic TV movie.
