Question

Could anyone please explain what it was that the kidnapper felt she had to apologize for? I could not understand what was being said.

reply

Do you mean in the car, when Cally starts saying she has to pee and becoming hysterical? Jacinta is refusing to pull over, and yells at Cally to "piss your pants" and some additional obscenity, then calms down and apologizes for lashing out. (She realizes Cally is just afraid and beginning to panic, and she is trying to keep her own cool and not make their whole situation worse.)

Even if the voices aren't real, they have some good ideas.

Or a bit later, when Jacinta's in the car with one of the kidnapped girls who just rescued her from the ghost of the one they killed? She's apologizing for getting the girl into the situation they're in, for kidnapping her and getting the other girl killed.

I should've finished the movie first...she just kept on apologizing to people throughout the movie and I was starting to find it very odd...then it got to the end and the scene that recapped all her apologies while she's talking to the bald man. At which point it became clear that the individual apologies, while seeming to be about whatever was happening or being said at the moment, were actually kind of "meta" apologies to all of them because she was sacrificing them in her quest to take down the bad guy (Devil), which she explains would "make it all worth it."
