Currently the user rating is 7.9 and is why I rented it but boy was I disappointed. I'm wondering just who rated it so highly and why. Romanians happy about any movie set in Romania? Jews? Whatever, the movie wasn't very entertaining and had a "silly", unrealistic feeling that I didn't like.

It's an absurdist comedy, not your usual history pic....It's good!
the movie is pretty damn boring. i killed it @ 40min.

p.s. but once i hit the 40min mark i just fast forwarded to the Vera Farmiga bits as she's hand down the most attractive actress ever, so i had to see her scenes. ;)
in fact, this is the first movie i have seen with Vera Farmiga that i could not even finish watching the movie and i have seen a large portion of her filmography.

Haha that's funny, I always see bad movies with great ratings on IMDb and I'm wondering, who rated these stupid movies that highly and why? Americans happy that the movie is set in America? :)
Note: you might or might not be an American, I don't know and it doesn't matter. I'm not attacking you, I was just thinking about that recently and your comment hit the spot.
