Every person to whom I recommended this show thanked me. How often does that happen? Innovative, unexpected, well-acted, exhilarating . . . the show had balls the size of Mt. Rushmore. Plus it had Lili Simmons and the Lola chick😜
shareMe too. I was a fan after watching the premiere and recommended it to a lot of people over the years. I remember during the first season being one of a handful of people who posted after watching each friday night. One of the most enjoyable series of all time.
Lili Simmons and all her delightful assets will be joining Ray Donovan this season. I'm looking forward to seeing her again.
My reponse to that, my friend, is SPROING! Ray Donovan has been really growing on me (I'm Bostonian, after all! Not a Mick, but a Gerry (of which we are REALLY rare, but do exist), and, in my love for all things related to my my adopted hometown, I love this show. And I appreciate your intelligent support for it, my friend.
shareI'm sticking it out with Ray Donovan even though the last 2 seasons have been a bit lackluster. Last season in particular was really weak. I hope they get back to Ray being a fixer having at least half the focus as opposed to Ray's family taking up 90% of the show. I'm really tired of wasting time on Ray's wife and daughter.
I'm not sure what a Gerry is but aren't most of the population of Boston Mick's? I bet that's fun.
I think Ray's daughter and wife are hot, but the rest of the family can vanish, far as I'm concerned. I don't like soap opera. I agree that last season was weak, but I hope for a rebound.
Gerry = German(-American). Boston is about equal parts Irish and Italian heritage (both are very warm cultures), with a smaller part being Yankee Brahmin dry farts.
I thought it might be slang for German like in all those WW II movies but I always thought it was spelled Jerry. Now that I think about it Gerry makes more sense.
You don't even like Mickey Donavon? He's such a charmer.
Voight does an outstanding job in the role; unfortunately, he makes me despise Mickey.
