Upside down.

I just watched the part where the yacht went upside down for a minute or so and then righted itself. When Redford goes topside and removes the wooden slats there are long thin air slits in one of them. How come the yacht wouldn't have flooded through those slits? Is it a script oversight or did I miss something?

I guess some water would have come in through them, but as long as the boards themselves remained intact it wouldn't be any kind of flood - more a leak. Also when the boat's capsized remember the air has nowhere to go so the ingress of water is going to be slower through the 'low' points of the cabin.

...then whoa, differences...

I think that makes sense. The air pressure kept the water out.
