smurf movie?

Honestly, I don't know. I've never watched the cartoons and didn't see the first movie, but took my kids to see this one. I thought it was entertaining. My kids are middle and high school students and they really enjoyed it, as did the other high school student sitting with us. The audience was mostly military members and families and the theatre was fairly crowded and the movie was well received. Lots of laughter and even some cheers when 'the good guys' won.

reply

I liked the movie. It was entertaining.

Ok... we have singular nouns and singular verbs, and then there are plural nouns and plural verbs. And sometimes using the word 'does' prior to the ... Oh forget it. This is a message board. No one uses correct grammar anymore. Thanks to the internet we've unhapplily watched the decline of the English language...(sigh).

Oh, and... Smurf THIS!

reply

Guys, it's seriously freaking petty for you douche bags to jump on this guy for grammar. For all we know the first poster is posting from overseas and english isn't his first language, given the way everything is phrased in his post that's the most likely possibility. And if not, then the other possibility is the poster has difficulty with writing or reading for whatever reason.

- This is coming from a professional writer. There is seriously no need to jump on this guy other than to try to make yourself feel better and how much does your life have to suck for that to be the case?

reply

If you're going to take the time to say something, say it right. Especially on the Internet when you have time to look up and type how to say something correctly.

Cough *English* ...

Seriously? Normally I don't bite for the grammar Nazis but when I see an idiot quoting to be a 'professional writer' who forgets to capitalize a proper noun ... I'm sorry, it was too easy.

A therapist for a sarcastic remark? Hahahahha ... You must be American.

"And if not, then the other possibility is the poster has difficulty with writing or reading for whatever reason."

Or he's just an idiot. Like the current generation that for the life of them can't figure out the difference between there, they're and their. But hey, "it's just the internet" right? It's not like this happens in a professional environment, on resumes or in college application letters of intent...oh wait, yes it does. Maybe we jump on them because their teachers did such a lousy job of doing it when they should have.

reply

I struggled between understanding there, they're and their my whole life... I would like to think I have other skills in my life that would make me anything but a idiot... so please dont be quick to bully someone.. calling a guy a idiot because he miss spelled a word is childish in itself.

reply

[deleted]

*an idiot. If the word starts with a vowel, you use 'an' not 'a'. And 'misspelled' is one word, not two. But good try...

I can see how you would struggle with homonyms and conjunctions.

The internet is a place of anonymity, there is no need for tact; a lesson you have clearly learned since you called me an idiot yourself.

Missed a lesson? You must be joking. The American school system creeps along at a snail's pace for years going over the same material, year after year. But I'm sure you're right...our media seems bent on showing us those that aren't good at X are really good at Y instead. We're all somehow leaders, we just need to find our niche, right? That's crap.

I blame it on this generation more than others because of the prevalence of texting. When you write "your" instead of "you're" 30 times a day on a phone, it hammers bad habits into you. Folks like you enjoy overlooking it or think they MUST be good at something else, so you don't correct them, and they continue to make the same mistakes. I on the other hand, am more disposed towards being a douche, but at least I provided the opportunity to learn the concept that was clearly previously overlooked.

And yeah, the guy probably was foreign, it does read that way. My original post was just calling out another possibility that was neglected.

reply

[deleted]

That's an assumption. Just because I could care less about what I say anonymously on the internet doesn't mean I lack tact, I just don't use it here. Also, tact is for others, not for yourself.

And I'm just going to go ahead and ignore the rest of your Sesame Street post because it's giving me diabetes.

Tact - "a keen sense of what to say or do to avoid giving offense"

Gee, it's sure hard to give offense to oneself wouldn't you say? Perhaps they're talking about others? Yes, yes I believe they are. Who sees the reflection and views you as an a-hole? Again, the other guy. Tact is for others, and the practitioner benefits from it by the view they project for others to interpret, not the other way around.

Thanks for the 'truth' though. I feel enlightened.

"You really should care more (than you do) what anonymous people think of your online persona...that's who you are inside, even if you hide it from people you interact with offline"

I realize that Facebook has taught you differently, but life is not a popularity contest. In addition, looking at your post history, a lot of the immediate posts I see are you arguing with others. What do you think these anonymous users think of you? Shall I hold you to your own standard above and say that deep down you are really a contentious person? No, probably not. The people you're a douche to 'deserve it', right? You really think anyone else feels much different?

"Disagree and argue with it if you like, but it won't change the fact that it's the truth."

If I sign my post with "I'm right, you're wrong" does that really make it more legitimate?

What do you write, "professional writer," lol. Usually they call themselves editors, journalist, authors, essayist or poet. Professional writer, no, are you a professional graphic novel (read comic book) or fan fiction enthusiast? Just curious. OR are you a college english student with nothing better to do.

reply

English mother *beep* er do you speak it?

reply

As said, the poster might be a foreigner - in which case, who is the mother *beep* here - the poster or you?

reply

Relax moron, it's a quote from Pulp Fiction. I don't give a s h i t if someone is foreign or not.

According to you. I found it to be one of the best movies of the year. Hell, better than anything that came out last year.

reply

I saw the first film and loved it. I thought the sequel was good too but a little lacking.

reply

What other movies have you seen this year exactly? I mean, it's better than Grown Ups 2, I'll give you that...

reply

Either A) you haven't seen many films this year or B) you were paid to say that or C) you're just a dumb *beep* i n retard.

reply

I'll second that.

reply

Or he just really liked the movie... nothing wrong with that
