I thought this was gonna suck after seeing Keanu Reeves in the trailer, but this movie was a lot better than I expected.
The only thing that sucked about this movie was Keanu's acting....don't know why he didn't get a chinese actor to play that character...to keep up with the genre of kung fu style movies

It's a smart move to not use a chinese actor. It's a pretty traditional setup for the the hero to be american, while the enemy is a foreigner. It immediately creates a distinction and a sense that they represent "the other".
This is an international movie. This isn't the kind of movie that can go big in a western audience, but this will play far far better in front of eastern viewers.
The parts of this movie I like are the ones where Keanu isn't talking. The ring announcer was pretty crappy too. Her last intro was okay but the first few times she opened her mouth made me cringe. Her and Keanu were both dry actors.

This is a brilliant movie and Keanu Reeves should be proud of this debut of his directional skills.

I was exaggerating and no I don't feel bad for anyone who dislikes this movie. I still however think this movie was pretty good and got a bad rap.

I guess it's a common problem with inexperienced directors directing a foreign language film. The Chinese (especially the mandarin part) dialogue is almost laughable, the execution and the timings are just all wrong, but the english subs are alright.
