Seeing as it ends with The Jackson Five's 'I Want You Back', or has this wonderful, life-affirming film now been permanently tainted?

Of course it's still possible to enjoy this film.
I've never understood how people suddenly go off a persons music just because they go off the person. Your view of Michael Jackson as a person may have changed, but why does that change your view of his music?

Because his music makes me feel good. But I can't feel good about something that was produced by someone tainted by one of the worst crimes it is possible to commit.

This isn't simply a college admissions scam or false assault allegation. This is the sexual assault of children!

Maybe I'll eventually be able to listen to his music again, but right now I'm actively avoiding it, skipping past any Michael Jackson and Jackson Five tracks on my playlists. I can't even listen to Janet Jackson right now, because of her family connection, and she hasn't done anything wrong,

Not trying to come across like a Jackson defender, but I believe the crimes were alleged but never proven. Are you saying there's no smoke without fire, so he's guilty? How's that work then?
If your life is ruled by perhaps and maybe, then carry on avoiding music you clearly like.

It's not like Jackson had any shocking revelations recently. That stuff has been known about him since the early 90's.

If it helps, Jackson was a kid when he performed and recorded that song, so it was long before any potential harm was done.

Yeah, both of those are good points.

Still, I'd argue that until recently, the stuff about Jackson was still 50/50. Now it seems much more likely that he did do the terrible things he was accused of.

And whilst I take your point about 'I Want You Back' and The Jackson Five, I still feel that it's tainted by what Jackson became (and that goes for all of his catalogue including his best album 'Off the Wall', which was recorded before he started abusing kids).

I still like it. Also a lot of celebrities are not the best people. I'm not going to stop watching Arnold Schwarzenegger movies because he cheated on his wife with another woman. I'm not going to stop watching the Cosby Show just because Bill Cosby did terrible things. I'm not going to stop watching Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie movies just because they all hate each other.

You can still watch 'The Cosby Show'?!?

As for the stuff Arnie, Aniston, Pitt, and Jolie did, they hardly compare to rape and child abuse.

Yes. I still watch the Cosby Show. I still find it funny. But Bill Cosby deserved to go to jail for what he did. But I can still enjoy his older stuff despite what he did.
