Why is this in the top 250?
Really, it shouldn't be. But I guess the top 250 is already messed up enough.
shareReally, it shouldn't be. But I guess the top 250 is already messed up enough.
shareEasy, because there isn't 250 more movies out there that are better than this one. You don't like it but everyone else does. Move along.

Not an impression, mate. Those that dwell on these boards have spoken with their votes. In this world, it's a top 250 film. In different conditions (which aren't here) could be different.
shareIn this world, it's a top 250 film.
Sadly, standards have fallen.
shareThat is a subject of debate. Films that inspire teamwork, fun story, interesting characters, and entertaining fit the bill for G.A. Nothing wrong with that standard either.
sharefun story
interesting characters
Actually, you're the one who's bland.
shareAgreed, bored me to death this movie... Took me 4-5 sessions to finish it!
shareSeriously? Personally, the ONLY two movies where I've had that experience were Diamonds Are Forever (I was marathoning James Bond movies throughout July two years ago) and A Millions Ways To Die In The West (I only kept watching it because of my friend's recommendation... it didn't get better,) and I've seen quite a lot of movies. Guardians Of The Galaxy, however, isn't even close to having to watch in multiple sessions.
shareThis.
shareAgreed

Yes there are, you seem to be under the impression that the top 250 is anything more than a popularity contest.
It is precisely a popularity contest.
Movies are made to entertain, therefore the only logical way to rank them is by asking the audience which movies entertained them. Insisting on some other criteria is ridiculous.
Zombie Squad: We make dead things deader...
When you learn not all movies are made to entertain maybe you won't be so narrow minded about the criteria to rate them. Not saying that your rating system is bad, but acting like your opinion is the only one that matters is ridiculous.
shareHe's not acting like his opinion is the only one that matters? He said "most people liking it" is what matters.... And he's right.
You are in fact the one acting like only your opinion matters as you are incapable of understanding that whether you feel the movie should be in the top 250 or not, the fact that the majority of people do is what counts.
There are plenty of movies in the top 250 which I think are boring and I could hardly consider entertainment, but I respect the fact that a lot of others do and that makes me appreciate that it deserves to be in the position it is.
Stop acting like an elitist idiot on a movie database message board. You are a nobody like the rest of us, or you wouldn't be wasting your time here. Get your head out of the clouds and come back down to Earth where most of us live.
What are they for then?
shareWhat else is it except a popularity contest
share[deleted]
Because people voted so, doh.
shareDo you actually think I'm asking about it? don't you think that maybe I'm just complaining?
shareDo you actually think I'm asking about it? don't you think that maybe I'm just complaining?
Don't feed it!
shareYou see, you are mistaking someone with a different opinion than you with a troll, a common mistake.
shareNot a different opinion, just someone who disagrees with the majority to get a rise out of them. When the film took so much money, enjoyed by an audience of millions, you are seriously questioning why its in the top 250.
Most trolls use this line to justify their baiting!
You see, you are mistaking someone with a different opinion than you with a troll, a common mistake."
I accept that The Dark Knight is highly rated, despite the fact that I personally hate it. We can't all agree with the masses.
In the kingdom of the blind, you're the village idiot.
Why don't you like it just curios
shareSorry, I never noticed your comment to me. I don't like the Dark Knight for too many reasons, but chief among them, Batman was a loser who quits at the end. The Joker had all the power and got Batman to slink back in the shadows, Gordon to falsify evidence and basically lie, and corrupted and murdered Harvey Dent. Plus, I found it a chore to watch.
In the kingdom of the blind, you're the village idiot.
You know all those complaints are plot points that bring us into TDKR, right?
shareMake your own top 250. Then post it. So we can sh*t all over you
shareWhy would I do that? you are going to disagree with it anyways just because you want a fight.
shareI get your point, I've got nothing against GOTG... is a very good movie, but it doesn't deserve a spot on the top 250. To take just one example, Kramer vs. Kramer is not included in the 250, now that's something beyond me.
shareThis is a lot more deserving to be in the top 250 than a lot of gone trash in there
shareSoon. The IMDB top 250 will be rid of it.
shareI don't think Shawshank Redemption is the best movie every made, but it is number one on the IMDB top 250. I liked it, but it was nowhere near that great. These things are based on votes by IMDB users, so it more a popularity rating than a reflection of quality. The quality of some films in the top 250 is warranted. I liked GotG, and gave it a high rating. The problem with the IMDB system is it should reflect more than one number. Perhaps one for entertainment value, artistic merit, etc.
