I just bought my PS3 finally yesterday along with NHL 12 (mandatory playing since 93' for me). I have been intrigued with this Dark Souls game since it was released and plan to purchase it on payday, however I have to wonder if it would be a mistake to play the sequal first instead of Demon Souls. Thoughts?

Dark souls is MUCH harder and its better to play the first on so you will know the game mechanics since they are both same in gameplay.
Star off with the royal, it comes with a very good spell that is useful for first timers.

I finished demons souls...it was pretty easy (I only had trouble with 1 boss).
Im playing dark souls now...its pretty had and im 10 hours in.
You should also get uncharted and killzone for ps3.
If you plan on getting resistance, skip the first one and for resistance 2.
