I was finally fooled

rented this thinking it was the movie i had seen previews to. What's sad is that I am familiar with asylum films parallel release strategy in an effort to get more people watching their bad movies. I avoided the sherlock holmes knock off, snakes on a train, death racers, and countless others laughing at who could be dumb enough to pick up the mock film instead of the real one. Then I rented this thinking it was the real one. Congratulations Asylum films; you finally got me.

Got me too. I would be annoyed except I actually enjoyed this movie. Ok so I found it laughably bad, cringe-worthily unsubtle, but also really intriguing and rather creepy.

The appearances of the number 11 is so overdone and lacking in subtly that it's farcical and it could be viewed as a 'so bad it's good movie', except, as I mentioned, it is rather creepy in places so the horror is actually effective. I found it thoroughly likeable, if not always for the right reasons!

The ending really lets it down however as is so 'meh' and cliche. It builds you up for something impressive but doesn't really deliver it in the end. Still if you fancy watching a very silly horror movie, presumably, taking itself seriously then I recommend this. I really enjoyed it even though I'm not sure I should have done but if the main goal of a film is to entertain then the job was done here.

It can't have been that terrible though if I believed it was a Darren Lynn Bousman movie until just now. Now to watch the real 11-11-11.

Second time, I rented a *beep* Asylum mockbuster...

Please, dear video rental shops, do us a favor and do not put this crap into your shelves!

reply

Hahah! Same thing happened to me. Luckily this one fell into the "so bad it's good" genre.

It happened to me too, but I watched on TV, so I just waste time, not money.

Please excuse my terrible redaction, english is not my native language IMDb = Catch-22

I recorded 11-11-11 yesterday on TV and decided to watch it today, turns out that despite the movie poster and the cast list belonging to the Darren Lynn Bousman film according to what the description says, it was actually this Asylum film that got recorded instead.

I should've known something was up the moment I realised the cast is different and the story didn't match up, but I was still fooled enough to watch it almost an hour in and then looking up on IMDB and realise that Asylum had ripped it off... looks like their plan worked on me too ._.

I got fooled as well. I wanted to watch the other 11-11-11 and I ended up renting this one. I was like "Wtf is this".
