Piltdown Man

It's true that it was a fraud but they're making it sound as if it were the only fossil that was even supposed to be a missing link. Piltdown man was never accepted by the scientific community at large, only a few British scientists that wanted man to have originated in the UK. It was also rebutted indirectly by the actual fossils found which had a completely different forehead/jaw recession rate.
