If you do the converse and mate a male donkey with a female horse, you get a hinny."
Umm, what?

Umm, what?
You misheard. You cross a female donkey with a male horse, you get a hinny.
All we care about is talking
Talking only me and you...
-Peter, Bjorn and John
I heard correctly.
shareokay here's another: why do the speakers on this show continually confuse/conflate monkeys with apes on the SCIENCE channel?
"Ugh! I don't like this." --Ambrose Bierce
The Science channel seems about as dedicated to actual science, as the History channel is to actual history. For example, here a few selected History channel programs:
Ancient Aliens
Apocalypse
Armageddon
Ax Men
The Bible Code: Predicting Armageddon
Extreme Marksmen
Ice Road Truckers
MonsterQuest
More Extreme Marksmen
MysteryQuest
Nostradamus Effect
Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy
Pawn Stars
Stan Lee's Superhumans
UFO Hunters
"Is this not a reasonable place to park?" - Raoul Dukeshare
Yes you did hear correctly. She misspoke and I was amazed it was never discovered by whoever edits the program. I rewound a couple of times thinking I must have heard it wrong. But yeah, she was wrong, not you, mk1.
shareI appreciate the support, Bill.
shareNo problem, apparently it slipped by a lot of people.
shareYou've seen the production quality of this show, and you're surprised something like that got by them?
BOHICA America!
It's not something most people are aware of. Hell, I'm a voracious reader that grew up in the country and had never heard of a "hinny" before.
I'm sure production assumed their expert was, you know, an expert and knew what they were talking about.
