What the *beep*? They talk about Westinghouse as if he is the father of AC.
Tesla was the father of AC, Westinghouse used Tesla's patent when manufacturing AC.I hate when they neglect Tesla when talking about Alternating Current.
I wish i could tell you more, but [insert government/aliens/terrorists of choice] are listening!
I came here to rant about this very thing. They even had the nerve to call Edison the "grandfather of the modern world". If anyone deserves that title, it was Tesla. Edison was a shyster businessman that made his living off the genius of the people he screwed over.
Yeah, I really hated the total neglect for Tesla in this. Hell, he's always been neglected but at least Tesla family has gotten back some of the patents, and starts to get more and more recognized.
I mean, no other "scientist" has been called a freaking magician, and done things no one ever dreamed of at the time. Tesla did all that, so he should really be recognized. But I guess it helped for the "drama" in the episode, but I wish they'd at least mention Tesla or have him in the race.

all i can say is sing it, brothers and sisters... edison was a notorious patent thief, and the rivalry angle without tesla takes all the drama OUT of the story.
then they paint edison in the final moments of the piece as a remorseful figure so very sad about the whole electric chair thing, boo hoo hoo. gimme da barf bag.

Not that I disagree with any of what you say, cause you're right, but didn't Edison end up with the nickname "The Wizard of Menlo Park"?
The episode never said or implied that Westinghouse invented or discovered alternating current. The episode simply didn't have the time to get into Tesla so they didn't even bother mentioning him. There was no need to.
This time is ours Inside a frozen memory of us And we are motionless, motionless...
I agree, this episode should have at least mentioned Tesla as the scientist behind Westinghouse who created the AC system and motors which Westinghouse sold. Also they should have at least mentioned the intense rivalry between Edison and Tesla in the 1890s. At least the series made it right by episode 6 when they profiled Tesla.
They probably didn't want to mention them because they know they have to do a full one on Tesla. They could run 5 seasons doing only Tesla experiments lol
