Kodak: No Compromise

Here's a nice video I'm not sure you've all seen, it's called Kodak: No Compromise http://vimeo.com/20169225

Even if you don't agree with their perspective, I still think it's fascinating to see all these people so passionate about the continued use of film.

Good for Kodak.

Wait. Didn't they file bankruptcy recently? A few times?
And FILM is not very present to find on their website anymore, amidst all the consumer digital printing kiosks, digital printers and supplies, and iPad apps they show.

Did you miss the fact that they even sell five different Super 8 films? Does putting down film make you feel that your videos are real movies or something?

reply

yes, they STILL sell film... buried a few menus deep. Not front page.
Film had its day and did wonderfully. So did painting on cave walls. Things advance. Digital does about 90 things better, film does maybe one or two and that include a "look" lacking quality due to grain, false coloration and flicker.
Kodak should retool like everyone else is doing.
