Why didn't they just call 911 after they hit the woman on the road? Also, I hated the ending. It wasn't a good enough movie to end in some artsy, don't really know entirely what happened, kind of way. Forest Whitaker's acting was really good though.

I seem to recall a lot of damage to the car.

Call 911, sure ambulance comes and helps injured woman, but police will know to look for evidence in the area.

Don't call 911, dump body in river, then it's just a car crash - and no one's going to prison for drunk driving causing an injury/death.
