Steve

I couldn't help but notice...when doing his interviews, Steve has the same expression that my dog has when I am talking to him. Totally blank with an occasional tilt of the head when a word is recognized!

As I have treated cops as a dentist, and grewup with many of them, they are taught NOT to show expressions.

And that's to his advantage but is the very reason why I wouldn't do well in that interviewing job. I was watching the show last night and realized that if someone started telling me they'd seen a three-headed apparition down the hall I couldn't hide my disbelief. My eyes would probably glaze over with a "Yeah, right!" expression. And I'd roll my eyes at other remarks. He must have some powerful self-discipline.

Steve missed his classes in "Making Faces"... ... and now the Acting School that specializes in teaching them is closed because of Amy's law suit...

Hmmm...makes sense to me.

When Steve does his reseach, I wonder how much of it was done long before he got to town? It would make it easier and quicker for him to do in the space of time that he's there.

reply

Yes, maybe he does research then, shares enough of it with Amy for her to make up her reading, but they don't communicate once the investigation begins. Therefore, he can state honestly that they don't. And we're led to believe Amy's reading is based solely on what the spooks tell her.

It makes sense. The police that do investigating are meant to gather information that may be used by both prosecution and defense in a case. Furthermore, expressing emotion can lead witnesses or dissuade witnesses.

It's possible that he's putting on an act, but assuming this show is 100% truth, Steve is dealing with paranormal subjects that were never a part of police training or science education. So he's take back by client comments.

Assuming this show isn't staged.
