These shows are frustratingly short. 24min split between 2 comedians.

You get Steve Martin or Gary Shandling in the studio and you only put up 12 minutes of interview each? Why? [assuming 24min for the show, 2 comedians per show]

Did they have a bus to catch? These are frustrating short. 24min per performer would really work. 12min each is just nuts.

You never see these guys actually interviewed. Whenever they're in a talk show, they've got a set, or a schtick, or they're plugging for a movie or an appearance. These interviews really are unique. I can't imagine how much they've had to cut in order to make it fit for time. You'd think they could've made a longer show of the same quality, and it would be so much fuller for the extra content.

Steinberg isn't the greatest interviewer either. With the extra time, you'd be able to compensate for this by guaranteeing the interviewee gets his points across.

Odd choice they made to make it so short. (Seinfeld's "Comedians Getting Coffee" on the other hand wouldn't benefit from time, because all they're doing is cracking each other up. It's of much less interest to the audience; it's more a Seinfeld ego boost: he drives his vintage car, he chats with his vintage comedian, he cashes his paycheck.)
