Genuinely creepy...

I watch a lot of horror films but I must say that I had a genuine unsettled feeling throughout this... I can't quite put my finger on it, but this film has stayed on my mind for days?!!

You're not the only one. Not only did it hold my attention throughout, but there were so many things that actually gave me the creeps, which happens to me very rarely. One of them was that music from the radio station - and the background they provided on it. I found a web site that specializes in that topic, The Conet Project https://archive.org/details/ird059 . It doesn't have the same effect as listening to a number station in the middle of nowhere like in the movie, but some are still creepy to listen to.

Same here, I don't get scared for Jack **** but this was very unsettling for me, very creepy and will admit had trouble sleeping

I agree. Not sleepless night scary or anything like that but had a few really big jumps and a general unsettled feeling duing it. I think it's one of the better ones of recent years.

I have to say... it did get boring at a few points. As much as I disliked the film- looking back on it is where it succeeds. It had an undeniable sense of dread, and some of the imagery was, in fact, genuinely creepy. Like- the author (buffalo bill character) was definitely the best part of the film. the main actress basically ruined it.

to be more specific- the scene where he calls her out for pouring the dmt. that part was good. it had pretty good set pieces. his house in particular. very nightmarish.
