Review - Breathtaking concert film

Sverrir at Filmophilia.com is impressed by Inni, to say the least.

Have you seen it? What did you think of it?

Thank you for flying Church of England. Cake or Death?

It just screened in New Orleans, I love this band and this is what I expected from Heima (which disappointed me): an experimental eerie black&white concert movie, that has to be seen on the big screen. It's kind of amazing how it doesn't get repetitive while mostly resorting to different shot angles and techniques of filming the same stage. You're not gonna see shots of the crowd cheering in a "cool" movie that states the band's popularity, it's more about filming the concert stage in a new way, finding visual poetry in that limited space. I won't say more, if you like their music, I think you'll fall in love with the movie, because it's the visual style that corresponds to them. If you don't like them though, even with the visuals you might get tired because in the end it is a celebration of their music.
