That probably explains why there was no gun in her house. See Colin the criminal would have had a gun anyway.

In all seriousness, I do think all women need to carry and shoot because like the end of the movie shows she probably couldn't physically overpower an intruder or kidnapper. And in the end that she's living alone with her kids hopefully she now has a gun at home.

It could have easily been taken from her as well, it is not an instant guarantee to safety just because you have a gun. People can also end up the victim of someone using their own gun against them. And lastly democrats own guns too. She was just a stupid DA because she knows all the risks and yet still lets a strange man into her home and then quickly tells him her husband is gone.
