On the other hand what was Elba thinking in accepting this mediocre script? IMO his rising star power, I guess, was factored into the producer(s) offering it to him ... For a film grossing an est. $50+ million, of a $13+ million budget, I guess all concerned got their money's worth; exception to many who saw it in theater?

The beautiful thing about claiming racism is that it applies to anything.
Black villian terrorizing a black woman and her black children? Racist because the villian is black.
What if it was a white villian terrorizing a black woman and her black children? Racist because the white villian is targeting a black family.
What if it was a white villian terrorizing a white woman and her white children? Racist because there's no black people in it.
