A refreshingly non-cheesy Christmas movie
Okay, okay, it has all the elements of the Hallmark made-for-TV Christmas movie, but the acting raises the bar to a whole new level. I've always thought that Faith Ford over acts, but in this movie, she's actually quite natural and relatable. Both of the male leads played their parts to a tee, especially Tom Cavanaugh who was an absolute pleasure to watch. He's hilarious (although I kept wishing he would eat some of those Christmas cookies and get some meat on his bones). Gabrielle Miller was a gem. Anyway, Hallmark toned down the intrusive background music that is usually so annoyingly prominent in their movies, and they let the actors do their thing, and for that, I am grateful.
