Bob Gunton's Piñera
This will raise some interesting debates. Some people love him. Some people hate him. Some people love to hate him.
Despite the fact that he looks like a hands- on man (when he tells Andre Sougarret that he needs the best drillers in the business), he looks like an opportunistic politician watching the events unfold from afar, going to the mine only after the 33 are alive, feeling somehow overshadowed by goodie-do-good Golborne.
While I agree that some of his personal traits are somehow accurate: his constant need for public approval and his emphasis on the looks of Chile from overseas, and his impulsive speeches. His display of the piece of paper showing "We are OK in the Shelter, the 33" is both famous and INfamous.
At the same time, the real Piñera was a hands-on-the mud personality. He spent a lot of time in the San Jose Mine before and after the miners were found alive and shared with the families and the miners after they were rescued: on and off camera. This was a political gamble for himself as well.
From your perspective:
Was it accurate?
Was it unfair?
Too good?
Too bad?
Is the real Piñera better or worse?
