I enjoyed the movie and it brought back the drama felt when it actually happened. but in all seriousness, when they were faced with death and short on water, they actually took the trouble to SHAVE ??? cumooooooon !!!!
shareI saw documentary about this real life event. Yes, the men did shave but I believe that was after they were receiving provisions they needed from the rescue team. Did you notice they also had all new clothing? All sent from the rescue team.
The rescue team gave them food, clothing and cleaning kits.

I was watching the movie and was thinking to myself that, after getting food and water, that the most important thing for me would be to blasted with a jet wash or something and pretty much hosed down with a load of shower gel. For one thing they're going on camera to be seen by their family for another just imagine being down there for 2 weeks like that!

An ex Navy bud of mine said that the Navy values a single razor blade over all pieces of equipment in a survival situation for the simple fact above other uses that one can keep up morale with a clean shave throughout trying times....
