Crappy music

Having a hard time getting into the game so far, please tell me this gets better. I know I've got a ways to go, I just released the Forerunner. But yeah, the music is awful. No tempo to it, doesn't set the mood, doesn't provider a sense of urgency. Hell, I barely even notice its there half the time.

Also, whoever mixed the sound for this is goddamn retard. The Warthog sounds terrible.

News flash: Your opinion is not fact.

The music is actually pretty good, although it's not as good as the stuff Marty used to write, but it is not used well in the game at all. Whoever was responsible for adding the music to the game has no idea what he's doing. It's too quiet and half the time it fails to set the proper mood to accompany what's happening on-screen.

The score itself isn't bad, though not a patch on Marty's work in my opinion. The thing I can't get over is that the title screen has dubstep 'music' for no apparent reason, it doesn't even fit thematically with the rest of the music. What was 343 thinking?

reply

maybe I'm wrong, but music by its very nature always has a tempo. The pacing might quicken or deaden, but as long as it is playing you can measure the frequency of the notes (not like wave frequency, more like beats per minute)

The music is very weak and uninspired, along with the rest of this game.
