Rank the Campaigns

Not talking about multiplayer or the games as a whole, just which campaign you found to be the most enjoyable (story, gameplay, etc.) For me...

1. Halo 4
2. Halo: Combat Evolved
3. Halo 3
4. Halo: Reach
5. Halo 2
6. Halo: ODST

Halo 4 takes the cake in my opinion. Great game and I now have faith in 343 to take this series onwards.

Well I would like to say H4 lived up to and surpassed my expectations, I was leaning towards the idea that 343 might run it into the ground but they def didn't. As to the campaigns to be ranked I would have to order them personally like so...

1. Halo 4
2. Halo: Combat evolved
3. Halo Reach
4. Halo 3
5. Halo 2
6. Halo Wars

1235. Halo:ODST

I just disliked ODST. The others I really, THOROUGHLY, enjoyed!

reply

1.halo ce

4.halo 3
5.halo odst
6.halo 2

Halo 2
Halo Reach
Halo 3: ODST
Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo 3
Halo 4

Whatever I've just said pales in relevance to how much I miss Spider-Man 4.

Halo 2 is your number 1? Interesting, im not trashing your opinion, but just wondering what you thought made it better then the other games? I remember being disappointed by it but maybe I need to give it another shot.

reply

Well, 2 is, without trying to sound snobbish, the most brainy of the lot. The script explores the Covenant and their devotion excellently, and puts the fight most in perspective by bringing it back to earth. Unlike say 4 where you are given at least three or four distinctly different avennues of approach for each fight, you were often forced to deal with what Bungie had dealt you, forcing you to think pretty hard on occasion, but strangely within the limited options there were thousands, and when you figured out a cool way to kill the Covenant, it was you who figured it out, not 343 giving you a convenient sniping spot. The weapons are very well balanced for Multiplayer as well, so that you can beat any gun with any gun. This kinda dissolved in 4. You get the SAW, you win. Yes, it has the least adventurous feel, which most people don't like, but that's because they're busy fleshing out existing stuff, and made it the most emotionally rewarding.

Whatever I've just said pales in relevance to how much I miss Spider-Man 4.

It seems like a "traditional" boss is kind of against the halo way at this point. All the games have had more difficult levels, and a climax of sorts, but never anything I would consider a true boss. Yes they had the monitor in 3, which was difficult. Then the brutes in halo 2 (if I remember correctly) which were also hard in the game's climax. But essentially you were playing the same characters with the same abilities that you had come to understand throughout the earlier stages of the game.

Sure the battles were designed to be more difficult, but I never found a true boss throughout the series. The diadect was the first time I saw a real boss battle coming (even though it didn't). Yes the monitor was difficult and climactic, but there wasn't really any new challenge faced, or an epic build up to a new baddie that needs to be overcome. When I think of a boss, I think of something different, something i havent seen yet that poses a new problem to the overall goal of beating the game. Basically, I'm not trying to say that I would in any way be opposed to a series of bosses being introduced to the halo series, but they have never really been incorporated into the series. At the same time, their absence wouldnt disappoint me, I'll enjoy a classic halo campaign regardless.

?!

Heretic Leader in Halo 2
Prophet of Regret in Halo 2 (Arguably.)
Tartarus in Halo 2
343 Guilty Spark in Halo 3

EVIL PINEAPPLES
Courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway.

My order would be:

Halo: CE / Anniversary
Halo 3
Halo 4
Halo 2
Halo Reach
Halo ODST
Halo Wars

I always find that the spin-off's without the Master Chief whilst still enjoyable just lack something.
