Bad, Really Bad

Utter utter utter utter rubbish.
Badly acted, totaly not funny, mind numbing drivel!
So what do the numpties at Sky do? Make series 2!
Yet another program for the Jeremy Kyle nation to view!

reply

Well dude you are entitled to your opinion, not that it's worth very much, I mean seriously why come to the board for the tv show you supposedly hate so much just to whine, get a life and get a grip, don't like i don't watch it, but posting on the board for a tv show that is very popular is stupidity, you are opening yourself up to abuse from the people that do actually like it, and as for Jeremy Kyle viewers, that is something this show is certainly not aimed for.

In short you're an idiot

Holy hell, are my boxers mader of wool coz' my weasels getting heat stroke - Dr Bob Kelso (Scrubs)

reply

They're doing a 3rd series, and I couldn't be happier. I wish they
had programming like this here in the US. Sorry you feel so sour
towards such a funny and sweet program.

Have you seen more than one entire episode? The first episode I saw(Series 1 episode 1) I felt this show was nothing special, certainly not a laugh riot. I was disappointed because these people had produced the IT Crowd, a show I really enjoyed. But I gave it a go for another episode(episode 2) and I found myself laughing out loud a few times. It is finding the familiar and silly in the every day life at the market that brings the jokes home. The more you watch, the more familiar things you see, and you realize how ridiculous it all is. I guess it helps if you have worked in a market (albeit a small one in my case).

I don't quite understand why someone who does not like a show feels the need to snipe at it. Decent criticism is one thing but...oh well.

Just thought to add my liking of this very smart show now in series 3 and whilst I think they could maybe pull back the Richard France character a bit the rest is a treat.

And yes love the old lady ( wassername)

Mark Addy /very funny guy , well acted / the character may have gone further but I expect he's happy... well I watched Atlantis for about 3 minutes.. not for me, I think you need some kids in the house, alas mine have grown.

Is it in the BBC slot robin Hood / Merlin/ Dr Who ?

PS Jeremy Kyle? What's that?
to be honest I think we all know it's a bye-word for tele trash .. but if that's how you see it?

My eyebrow is raised.

no comparison in my mind. Not in a million years

I don't know if Brits and Europeans use the expression "jumping the shark", but, intoducing Chris Geere as Richard France was Trollied's jumping the shark moment and each episode that that character appears feels like a new moment. I LOVED this show up until he was introduced. He really has spoiled Trollied for me.

reply

Yes I have heard of the Jumping the shark it means going to far when 'thinking outside the box' sort of?
Yes I get the feeling they had run out of ideas. He should have been a one episode or maybe some idiot at head office, he is totally incongruous to me. I wish Ms Horrocks ( as writer) would take note. In the last chapter her character began to emulate Richard Franks ...cringe.

the two potential lovers in series 1 and 2 the guy has left now ( watssisname? ) could have played out more. There is a lot of unrequited love going on.
Unless you are completely 'liberated' like Colin and his GF or Even Anna and Manager (That was a great stroke )

I note that other writers here actually work in supermarkets and claim it IS true to life do they include the OTT manager Richard Franks ?

reply

That Nick Blood as Kieran love affair should have been pursued but he probably had some other contractual commitment. Likewise, I'm sure that Mark Addy probably pulled out for Atlantis that he's in now. With both of them gone, the show feels as though it's on life support for a short while unless they can make some serious (funny?) changes. Also, Chanel Cresswell as Katie is totally being wasted as she seems to have been relegated to a much more minor role since her love interest left.

reply

We should write up a scenario where she gets some love, they have left her unused. as you say..and seems to be mooning after ...well it would have been Kieran ,,, but if he's not coming back?

She kind of sticks out a bit as a modern woman who is independent of the rest of the cast but ...give her some one to love. Maybe they, the writers, are stuck for a 'trope' , with Julie 's unrequited scenario, Colin and Lisa doing it every where
The sad Neville with the daughter and DJ living in.
Anna and Gavin loved up. Also she isn't stand out funny like the rest ( France is more annoying than funny)

Perhaps they dare not write in a love interest for Katie who is not already on the cast list...but hey Columbo's unseen wife etc. the two comedy checkout girls seem to get a bit of action elsewhere.
Sorry thinking aloud...I'll get my coat.
I actually have to go to the supermarket

reply

We should write up a scenario...

I think you just did.

reply

Golly gee Batman, If only there was some way to influence these scriptwriters and put 'The Hoaxer' (Richard France) back behind bars where he belongs!

reply

How I wish! The character is pure 100% annoying and ZERO% comedic.

reply

Agreed, Richard France is embarrassingly bad and poorly acted and so is the Spanish woman. I fast-forward through their scenes and the show becomes almost watchable again. I really don't know what the scriptwriters were thinking, they've ruined a great show.

reply

not one likeable character , not one funny line. no stories, no babes, no skin.actors deliver lines like a play or a sketch show.

reply

Have been watching the Trollied seasons back2back over the last few days; and I have to say each successive one is becoming harder and harder to watch, to the point where S4 is nothing more than background noise!

The first two seasons were pretty much excellent, the first particularly so. Interesting characters, slightly wacky/funny characters; and characters you genuinely care for. Coupled with one or two decent story-arcs.

But the wheels soon started coming off the wagon by S3 and that immensely irritating Richard France character. Anna, was okay in small doses, although perhaps she could have done without the fragmented Spanish accent to make her character less jarring on the ears.

But by season 4, OMG, did the show ever jump the shark! Major characters leaving, no decent story arcs, more slap-stick and vulgar humour; and the introduction of some really annoying characters.

It's as if the writers have run out of decent ideas and gone for the lowest/simplest common denominator. And yet it is now into its 5th season, so clearly there is demand/interest in the show. I just can't see where?

reply

Yep! It is, all our comedies in the U.K., are set in the North. I mean ALL! They think a Northern accent seems to be more funny, but it ain't. It is also discriminatory to the rest of the UK. I would not watch this if I was paid!
