Well Done

The three leading characters carried this movie with exceptional talent and believability.

I was TRULY surprised at Hudgens performance. I've never thought the HSM alum had this much talent in her. I stand corrected. I felt she did a remarkable job and I feel my former opinion of the actress was premature in her career.

I've never been a huge fan of Cage, but felt he gave a GREAT performance and will now give his other works a look.

I have loved Cusack throughout the years but was honestly afraid he couldnt make me believe him in this horrid role. Maybe I just didnt want to see him as a dark character. But let me just say, he sold it! I REALLY hated his character, which means he did his job portraying the real-life monster.

From the majority of opinions here, I know I am obviously in the minority concerning this movie.
But that's the beauty of cinema in our world. There are many genre's, actors, and plots, so we all cant agree on every one of them, right? Haha!

Anyway, I thought this movie was very well done and pulled me in from the beginning. I was totally wrapped, early on and was emotional when it ended. Especially during the ending credits when some of the victims were shown on the screen.

I agree that these actors did an amazing job. Cusack was brilliant in this and it's some of Cage's best acting IMO. I'n not familiar with Hudgens but also thought she was great. Well done but a very difficult topic.

Vanessa Hudgens is good in this.

Haven02 you said what I wanted to say. Great acting by Vanessa, John and Nick. If I hadn't known the story, I would have been led to believe Bob might have gotten away with it.

I really appreciate that the film focused on the detective, the killer and the victim. Usually you don't get all three, but in The Frozen Ground you did. That was an important element to me.

There's more than just the interacting of these three. Hansen's family is shown only once, while he sits with them at the dinner table. Hansen is visibly upset, but not angry and certainly not aggressive. However, his wife does not only act submissive, she seems to fear her husband. And every minute of the day, so. A telling and quite powerful moment.

Not an exceptional or very original film, but still a fine, dark thriller, graced with good acting and some genuine chills. Cusack was great, and Hudgens was more watchable than expected. Cage was generic, though.

If you're a John Cusack fan, be sure to watch The Paperboy, he's one amazing villain in it. The film also stars another former High School Musical kid (Zac Efron) who delivered a surprisingly decent perfomance.
